Dinner Service x KOATJI: Fashion, Meet Workwear

At Dinner Service, we’ve always believed clothing can make you feel part of something bigger. This collaboration is our foray into the world of uniforms. Real uniforms. The kind that defined the golden era of American workwear, when a shirt wasn’t just a shirt. It was a badge.

Think of the 50s and 60s: the milkman in crisp whites, the mailman walking the same route in any weather, mechanics with hand-sewn patches, steel workers in denim that spoke before they did. Even the diner crews and burger-joint line cooks. The uniform proved you belonged to something.

We wanted to create a uniform that felt fashion-forward but still unmistakably tied to a trade. So we partnered with KOATJI, a Copenhagen and California-based alternative milk company known for its intentional approach to plant milk. They believe in craftsmanship the same way we do, and because of that, we’re thrilled to announce the KOATJI Collection x Dinner Service. 

Together, we built garments that bridge the traditional uniform with the shape of modern fashion. Rounded collars pulled from mid-century service wear. Light-wash denim with a lived-in heritage feel. Structured, durable, and honest. Embroidery that is stitched, not stamped. Pieces designed to layer with intention, grounded in function but shaped with style. This collection launches with two cornerstone pieces: a denim vest with utility pockets and a custom patch, and a denim porter shirt featuring true back embroidery and a matching patch on the chest.

Most uniforms today feel disposable. Branding without soul. Style without substance. The old ones were built to last. Built to represent. Built as an emblem of craft. With KOATJI, we set out to honor that lineage and carry it into a modern light.
